Love God … Love Others … Serve Both

Open Door Baptist Church is a conservative, Bible believing church. For the purpose of missions and church advancements, we are affiliated with, and contribute to the Southern Baptist Convention, the West Virginia Convention of Southern Baptists, and the Upper Ohio Valley Baptist Association.

The church was officially constituted on August 18, 1985. Through the years, God has richly blessed ODBC as the church has maintained a faithful presence in the Upper Ohio Valley Region.

The future is bright as God is moving in our fellowship. The people of ODBC have a deep desire to glorify God and to make Him known in this community and beyond.

Open Door desires to be faithful in fulfilling the purpose of a New Testament Church: Worship, Evangelism, Ministry, Discipleship, and Fellowship!

Our MOTIVATION is the Great Commandment

(Matthew 22:36-40)
“Teacher, which is the great commandment in the law?”
Jesus said to him, “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.”

Our DETERMINATION is the Great Commission

(Matthew 28:19-20)
Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.

Our PASSION is to love God, love others, and serve both

(1 John 3:16-23)
By this we know love, because He laid down His life for us. And we also ought to lay down our lives for the brethren. But whoever has this world’s goods, and sees his brother in need, and shuts up his heart from him, how does the love of God abide in him?
My little children, let us not love in word or in tongue, but in deed and in truth. And by this we know that we are of the truth, and shall assure our hearts before Him. For if our heart condemns us, God is greater than our heart, and knows all things. Beloved, if our heart does not condemn us, we have confidence toward God. And whatever we ask we receive from Him, because we keep His commandments and do those things that are pleasing in His sight. And this is His commandment: that we should believe on the name of His Son Jesus Christ and love one another, as He gave us commandment.
